Browser settings for optimal access to Electronic Resources

(Using Automatic Configuration file:  SunProxy.Pac)

To obtain access from within the campus network to all Electronic Resources without paying Internet fees, adjust your browser settings according to the steps detailed below.   For enquiries or assistance, please contact  Wouter Klapwijk.

  Instructions for INTERNET EXPLORER (versions 5.0 and 5.5)

1) In the Top Menu bar of MS Internet Explorer, click on Tools.

2) Click on Internet Options (bottom of the drop-down menu).

3) Click on Connections (4th tab from the left).

4) You will see the following window:

5) Click on LAN Settings (bottom right).

6) Mark the Automatic configuration options, and enter the script address as shown here:

7) Deselect the Proxy server option below.

8) Click OK

10) Refresh your current browser session (F5), or start a new session.

Instructions for NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR (versions 4.0, 4.5 and 4.7)

1) In the Top Menu bar of Netscape Navigator, click on Edit.

2) Click on Preferences (bottom of the drop-down menu).

3) In the Category box, double-click on Advanced (bottom entry).

4) Click on Proxies.

5) You will see the following window:

6) Change the Proxies settings as shown here:

7) Refresh your current browser session, or start a new session.
